The Complaint Against the WECRD

In an attempt use the judicial system as a foil at the ballot box a group of citizens have filed a ridiculous complaint against the WECRD. Here we’ll outline a timeline and provide links to the complaint and our response.
This group has been to the Attorney General, the County Prosecutor, the LSO, both of our local State Congressional representatives, our local State Senator, and who knows who else, and hasn’t been able to get anyone to bring legal action against the WECRD. Now in an attempt to carry on their crusade they’ve hired an attorney. Zealots have zeal I suppose.

August 1, 2017 – A Complaint was filed against the WECRD, as well as Betty Ashcraft’s affidavit.

August 1,2017 – The plaintiffs file a motion to shorten the time for the hearing and asked it to be on August 7, 2017.

As of the afternoon of August 2, 2017 we still hadn’t received or been served any notice that this was going on. We found out by seeing it posted on the Idaho Repository and started to make inquiries. Only after we contacted the plaintiff’s attorney did they send our attorney the documents. How long would they have waited to serve us if we hadn’t found out?

August 3, 2017 – The plaintiffs file a motion to move the hearing to August 28, 2017.

August 21, 2017 – We file our Memorandum in Opposition, Direcor Mayne’s and my affidavits.

August 22, 2017 – After receiving our response to their puerile complaint, the plaintiffs file a motion to move the hearing to a third date, September 22, 2017.

We look forward to our day in court no matter how many times they push it out. This sour grapes campaign needs to come to an end so this community can move on to positive things.
